MiA insurance for people with pre-existing illness.
Freedom and columbus however columbus stopped insuring hughes when i told them i was waiting for blood flow tests on my legs.
Columbus and insure and go. Although I think that the last time Insure and Go refused, could be wrong though. Mine is made worse because I had a stroke in 2005, so most say no to me.
Freedom Insurance cover my lupus, APS, PE, DVT, TIA and Addisons Disease...but at a premium....for a long weekend in europe they want £99 and for 2 weeks skiing in europe they want £150....but they do offer comprehensive cover which really will cover you in case of the worst scenario.
Direct travel insurance. Have flown several times abroad and been covered now 4 years. Extra charge to cover APS was not much more.
Barclays
I live in South Africa, here my Medical Aid Discovery covers travel to anywhere in the world. Medical Aid companies are not allowed to discriminate against any condition, illness or disability either acute or chronic. I don't have to pay extra as it is part of the Medical Aid. I will be coming back to live in UK sometime, so am concerned about the problems getting travel Insurance as I will need to come back frequently to SA.
Natwest. I had to make them change the name of the condition on the insurance document as they put 'polycythaemia' and not 'antiphospholipid syndrome' as they couldn't find APS on their list!!! Just as well I checked as I needed to get medication in America - very expensive there!
Travel Guard, but had to pay for the high risk coverage. Worth it only for a very expensive big trip.
this year have used + travel insurance medical / staysure @ staysure.co.uk for travel insce . I never fly however, having had two D.V.T.s these were in 1997.
I get travel insurance from Flexicover Direct, no probs at all.
Columbus insurance where fab and great value(£54 for couple 1 week in Austria) as well. My husband had to make a claim and it was all sorted out within 4 weeks of returning from our hoilday which in my books is really good going for an insurance compay.
Virgin gave me extra cover to go to Australia last year- was about £25 extra I think.
YES, YES, YES!!!!! I can't believe it I just got some. Worldwide, multi trip any one trip up to 45 days. Only had to pay £59 premium on top of normal policy price after declaring APS, SS and Stroke etc.
Now the bad news for all you guys Im sorry to say. The policy is one for people in the airline business or have now retired so if that applies to you let me know and I will give you details. For the rest of you I was recommended by the same broker to try GOOD TO GO 0844 334 0165 and if it works out can you say CBG recommended them. Thanks.
Insure and Go and AA Insurance - a miracle after years in the wilderness without being able to get cover
When you get and pay for travel insurance within two weeks of booking a trip, pre-existing conditions are covered. I generally use Travel Guard Gold
Freedom
Just a little hint and tip one time i told freedom i had a slightly cheaper quote they knocked 30 quid off as i had used them before they said... I still reckon they would have even if I had not. I've never claimed on Freedom though .
