I wear a 'MedicAlert' bracelet for my conditions it reads:

line1 Diabetes

line 2 Warfarin therapy

line 3 Antiphospholipid

line 4 Syndome

What should be on yours should be in consultation with your doctor.

I wear a 'medicalert' bracelet it reads

sharon price

on warfarin

sneddon & hushes syndrome

Have to say tho, when I had my last stroke (jan12) nobody looked at my bracelet only when they where trying to take blood the doctor removed it read it and give it back to me. I had been at the hospital an hour even the paramedics didnt read it. I guess if I was unconscious maybe they would of read it???

I've been in hospital 25 times in the last 12 years, and only twice have they looked at my braclet, from curiosity. Didn'tmake any difference as fr as I could see.

I found that I could not get all my relevant info on a bracelet, so I got a pendant from Aller Tag and this then allows me to put nearly everything - Meds & Doses (of which there are a lot), Doctors, Hospital numbers, ailments, next of kin, NHS number, Blood group, Date of Birth etc.

I also keep some of this information on a sheet of A4 in my wallet. Just in case.

They gave me a larger bracelet disc as they couldn't get everything on the smaller one

I have a medic alert bracelet.

you fill in the forms and then the company ring you and ask you loads of questions, they decide what is relevant to put on your bracelet. you have to pay a yearly fee but it is worth as they have every relevant detail about your health and medication which in an emergency family memebers would not be able to remember.

My doctor advised me to keep it simple but give the important info an EMT would need,

Line #1= Warfaran Medicated

Line#2= my name (they need to be able to know your name, they can find out further info just with that)

Line#3= ICEphone# (In Case of Emergency and my husbands phone #)

Hope this helps...<3

i have a medical alert bracelet, on mine i have a next of kin name and telephone number, list of my medication which is quite long, also my condition again long, but have managed to squeeze it on. I did lose my bracelet once whilst at great yarmouth beach, and someone did find it and called me on my number and i collected it from them. So it is worth having details on them. Luckily have not had to be used in an emergency where i have been unconcious of unable to sepak etc.

Thank you everyone!!!! I now have an idea what to put on my alert bracelet. I asked the lady drawing my blood, she told me not to list I have APS. She said they wouldn't need to know that, they would only need to know if I had Diabetes. I didn't think that sounded right.

Thanks again everyone~

Hi mine says:

on the front:

Hughes(APS)

on the back:

My name.

warfarin user.

allergy:penicillin.

As for the blood doc' saying you wont need to put APS I dont know about that? you would at least need to put that you take warfarin (if you're on that?) but I personally think its needed......... def' need to put that youre a diabetic x

Definitely note you have aps - mine says hyper coagulable and antiphospholipid syndrome. Those that are not familiar with aps will understand the hyper coagulable meaning.

All these answers are quite interesting, I have been thinking about getting a medic alert but have not made up my mind whether it is worth the expense.

Every time I have gone into the hospital, that is the first thing they noticed, was my bracelet. Also one time in an ambulance. Mine simply says INR 3.5-4.5 . I need to get a new one that says I have the gastric pypass because of the ng tube danger.

I know this is an old post but it is very important.

Hyper coagulable (APS) I require my anticoagulants, contact my dr so and so, for any changes
